A visibly upset Jasprit Bumrah had the last laugh after exacting revenge on Ben Duckett during the Day 3 of the first Test between India and England in Hyderabad.

It was quite a turn of events for Jasprit Bumrah and India midway through the second session of their ongoing first Test against England in Hyderabad.

With Ben Duckett ‘Bazballing’ the home bowlers, a steaming Bumrah got one to move in sharply after pitching to the left-hander. Cramped for room, Duckett was struck on pad and off went the Indian team with a an appeal for LBW.

The umpire disagreed and after a brief chat with wicketkeeper KS Bharat, India captain Rohit Sharma decided to not review it either.

It was the final delivery of the 17th over, third for Bumrah. And a few moments later, replay of that delivery was shown on the big screen – the ball tracker predicting it would have hit the leg-stump.

Bumrah saw it and he was visibly upset, disappointed, ‘nearly devastated’ as Dinesh Karthik aptly put it from the commentary box.

The frustration stemmed from the fact that Indian bowlers were being punished by Duckett who kept on collecting boundaries with regularity.

And then in the next over, Duckett added to Bumrah’s frustration by clattering two fours in the over.

Right after that second four, Bumrah exacted revenge on the England opener with an inswinger that sneaked past the inside edge to uproot the off-stump.

Bumrah was pumped up, showed aggression, nearly in the face of the departing Duckett who made his way back to the dressing room on 47.
