India vs England 2nd Test Match Live Score: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the 2nd Test match Day 2 between India and England from Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. All eyes on Day 2 of the match will be on Yashasvi Jaiswal who would look to complete his maiden double century. The southpaw scored an unbeaten 179 and was the standout performer for the hosts as other batters failed to cross the 35-run mark on a good batting surface.

Trailing 0-1 in the five-match series, India would like to get to at least 500 on day two and then put pressure on the England batters on a pitch where variable bounce is expected to come into play from day three.

At the close of play on Day 1, R Ashwin was giving company to Jaiswal on five and the southpaw would want big support from the veteran all-rounder to get past 450. The Indian tail put up a good fight in the second innings of the Hyderabad Test and India would hope for it to replicate the same on Saturday.

For England, debutant spinner Shoaib Bashir and leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed took two wickets apiece while James Anderson and Tom Hartley chipped in with one wicket each.

“I wanted to play it session by session. When they were bowling well, I just wanted to get through that spell,” Jaiswal said after the end of play.

“Initially, the wicket was damp and there was spin and bounce, with a bit of seam. However, I wanted to convert the loose balls, and play till the end. I would love to double this up, and play till the end for the team.”

Shoaib Bashir was a late arrival in India after a visa delay — the latest cricketer of Pakistani descent to have such troubles in India — and missed the series opener.

“It has been a very special, special day for all that I have been through in the last two to three years,” Bashir said on his international debut.

On his late arrival, Bashir said: “I knew I would get the visa. It was a bit of a hassle but we are here now and I got to make my debut and that’s what matters.”
