Team India players will head back home during the break between the fourth and fifth Test of the ongoing series vs England. Rohit Sharma & Co. will depart from Ranchi on Tuesday and will assemble in Dharamsala on March 3 for the fifth and final Test which gets underway on March 7.

Day 4 finish of the Ranchi Test has allowed both teams an extra day off and they will have a good five-six days before returning to action. It is understood that England will most likely spend their break in Chandigarh and have some golf sessions before heading to the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium.

1-3 down in the series, Ben Stokes and Co. still have a lot to play for and would look to bounce back after tasting defeats in three consecutive contests. The visitors registered a brilliant win in the series opener in Hyderabad but have struggled since then. There have been periods of play where they have been good but the hosts have found a way to bounce back, in style.

With a very young side, India registered an emphatic series win and it now remains to be seen whether KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah return to the mix for the final match of the series. When asked about Bumrah’s status and whether he would be rested for the final match now that India have won the series, Rohit didn’t reveal much and said “I have no idea. We have not sat down and discussed”.

Bumrah was rested from the fourth Test due to his workload in the Visakhapatnam and Rajkot Tests. There was no word on his participation in the final game of the series.

“Jasprit Bumrah has been released from the squad for the 4th IDFC First Bank Test against England in Ranchi. The decision was taken keeping in mind the duration of the series and amount of cricket he has played in recent times,” read the BCCI advisory.

As far as Rahul is concerned, the BCCI media advisory just said that he is out of the fourth Test and participation in Dharamsala is “subject to fitness”.
