Joe Root remained unbeaten for 122 while Ollie Robinson made his maiden test fifty as Ravindra Jadeja picked up four wickets after Akash Deep’s three scalps.

Joe Root remained unbeaten on 122 but ran out of partners as India bowled out England for 353 on day two on day one of the fourth Test of the five-match series at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Friday.

Root put on 102 runs with overnight partner Ollie Robinson, who made 58, but the latter’s departure brought a quick end to the England innings as Ravindra Jadeja finished with four wickets.

Former England skipper Root scored 10 boundaries during his unconquered 274-ball innings.

Resuming at the overnight score of 302 for seven, Root and Ollie Robinson completed their century stand for the eighth wicket to take England forward. Former England skipper Root scored 10 boundaries during his unconquered 274-ball innings.

Ravindra Jadeja (4-67) and Akash Deep (3-83) impressed with the ball for India, who are 2-1 up in the five-test series, which concludes in Dharamsala.
