Valentine’s Day Menu – Dinner at home with your honey or friends
Valentine’s day is just a few days away. And, if you’re anything like me you’re trying to decide what to make for dinner for that special someone.
I don’t really like going out for dinner on Valentine’s day. If you guys have checked out my Instagram account lately the hubby and I go out for dinner quite often, so there is nothing intrinsically special in “simply” going out. Plus, everyone and their mother will be out for dinner this weekend, and that just puts me off.
With that said there are two restaurants that I would be more than content to visit this Valentine’s day weekend. (hint hint hint hubby)The first is Chef Cannavacciuolo’s 2 Michelin starred restaurant, Villa Crespi. I haven’t been but the photos look stunning, and the food is supposed to be spectacular.

The second option is Innocenti Evasioni, with a stunning garden in that whispers peace and tranquility.
Provided one of those two options don’t happen, I would be happy with a lovely bouquet of flowers and a trip to my favorite grass fed, cage free farmer poultry farmer (hint hint hint hubby). Hahaha. I know that is anything but a normal way to spend Valentine’s day, but I am a foodie that is dreaming about the broth I’m going to make with those chickens. Lol.
Hints aside, I love making delicious slightly decadent dishes but incredibly easy dishes for Valentine’s day. I adore preparing elaborate, complicated, time-consuming meals (for me it’s a challenge). But this is just not the day for it. It should be simple, light, and tasty. Plus, no heavy stews, no beans, no broccoli (hahaha – because that could just ruin the after party).
So here is my suggested menu for V-day with your sweety.
Sea Scallops Au Gratin
I also believe that Valentine’s day isn’t just about spending time with your romantic interests. It’s also an occasion to celebrate the awesome friends in your life. So here is a one-pot meal that you can all prepare together add a few snacks and easy make-ahead dessert, and you all are a few steps away from fabulousness.
Champagne, olives, cheese platter…
Very Berry White Sangria
