Assembly constituency no.4 Tuirial is an Assembly seat in the North region and Kolasib district, of the state of Mizoram, which is in the North East region of India (Bharat). Tuirial Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 0.01% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 92.62%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission of 2008. The estimated literacy level of the district in which this constituency falls in is 93.5%, according the Census of India, 2011.

In the 2023 Mizoram Assembly elections, there were a total of 18,364 eligible electors in the constituency, of which 8,991 were male and 9,373 female and registered voters were of the third gender.

The electorate sex ratio in Tuirial in 2023 was 1,042 female voters for every 1,000 male voters.

In the 2018 Assembly polls, there were a total of 17,003 eligible electors, of which 8,455 were male, 8,548 female and 128 electors of the third gender.

In the 2013 Mizoram Assembly elections, there were a total of 15,718 eligible electors, of which 7,905 were male, 7,813 female and 0 voters of the third gender.

PAST RESULTS

In the 2018 Mizoram Assembly elections, Andrew H Thangliana of IND won in this seat defeating Sailothanga Sailo of MNF by a margin of 204 which was 1.43% of the total votes cast for the seat. IND had a vote share of 30.8% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Hmingdailova Khiangte of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Joseph L Ralte of ZNP by a margin of 239 votes which was 1.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 39.12% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Hmingdailova Khiangte of INC won this seat beating Sailothanga Sailo of MPC by a margin of 1,022 votes which was 8.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. MPC had a vote share of 39.58% in the seat.

Tuirial Assembly constituency went to the polls in Phase 1 on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the Mizoram Assembly elections 2023. The counting of votes is on Monday, December 4, 2023. In the 2018 elections this seat voted in Phase 1 on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 and the results were declared on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. In the 2013 polls this constituency voted in Phase 1 on Wednesday, December 04, 2013 and the results were declared on Sunday, December 08, 2013. In 2008, Tuirial voted in Phase 1 on Tuesday, December 02, 2008 and the results were declared on Monday, December 08, 2008.

EXTENT

Assembly constituency no.4. Tuirial comprises of the following areas of Kolasib district in the North region of Mizoram: North Thingdawl, Rajtali, Dilzau H, Hortoki, Sethawn, Bukpui, N Chaltlang, N mualvum, Zanlawn and Wd No 1 Kawnpui and Wd No 2 Bualpui in N Kawnpui (Notified Town) of North Thingdawl R D Block; and Villages Khamrang, lungmuat, Nisapui, Serkhan, mualkhang, lungdai and Sentlang in Tlangnuam R D Block.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 788 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Tuirial is: 24°02’54.6″N 92°43’09.1″E.

A total of six Assembly constituencies in the state of Mizoram share borders with Tuirial constituency, which are: Mamit, Kolasib, Serlui, Tuivawl, Aizawl East-I, Aizawl West-I. This constituency shares an inter-state/international border with no other state.
