IND vs ENG 3rd Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal Scored Second Successive Double Ton Against England

Yashasvi Jaiswal was less than 18 months old when James Anderson made his Test debut for England in May 2003. Cut to February 2024, the left-hander took guard against the experienced English seamer, playing his 183rd Test, in Vishakhapatnam for the first time. It was a game which saw Jaiswal hit a double hundred but he opted for a very watchful approach against Anderson and was dismissed by the 41-year-old in both the innings. He faced a total of 76 deliveries from Anderson in that game and managed 20 runs, and just one boundary.

India comfortably won that fixture and action moved to Rajkot for a crucial Test as the series was excitingly poised at 1-1. For Jaiswal, there was a score to settle as Anderson won the first round. There wasn’t much to read into the first innings as the young opener was dismissed early but managed two boundaries from the eight Anderson deliveries he faced. Unlike Vizag, he looked positive vs Anderson but Mark Wood didn’t allow a longer contest between the two.
