“Bella Nashville” Pizzeria – A Little Bit of Naples in Nashville, TN
The other fabulous thing about Nashville’s farmer’s market was all the ready made food stands. Food purveyors ranged from a vintage styled cupcake stand to an incredibly appealing take-away Indian food restaurant.
While surveying all the Market had to offer, I came across “Bella Nashville”, perhaps the BEST Naples style pizza I have ever had in the United States. Even the pizza obsessed tall, dark and handsome Italian born man sitting next to me couldn’t get enough of this pizza.
The love that the guys and girls at “Bella Nashville” put into their pizzas literally explodes onto your taste-buds. Flour and San Marzano tomatoes are imported from Italy. That combined with the fresh mozzarella which is produced in-house and lots of fresh herbs, in itself would be enough to make a great pizza. These guys then add a wood fire oven ensuring that the pizza has a little bit of bite on top of the beautiful doughy chewiness that characterizes Neapolitan pizza.
If I had to give “Bella Nashville” a rating from 1-5, they would get a very solid 4.5, which I would consider pretty darn outstanding. The only draw back to this scrumptious pizza was too many overly cooked dough bubbles. AKA – Just a tad bit burnt. Fortunately it was more an esthetic thing, the pizza just ended up tasting a little smoky.
All in all, I sat on the bar stool enjoying the gorgeous sites before my eyes: an incredibly aromatic pizza Margherita, the Bella Nashville crew passionately preparing their next set of pies, and the of course the tall, dark and handsome Italian sitting next to me.
Yep. I enjoyed Nashville!
